Understanding Local Markets is Critical
LOs have reported a number of issues with implementing the new GFEs, particularly with blocks 4-6 dealing with settlement service providers. A major challenge, especially for large national lenders, is knowing who the local service providers are as well as their costs.
Laws governing how settlement services are regulated vary by state. Customs, such as whether the seller or buyer pays for certain closing costs, vary not only from state to state, but often within different regions within a state. With HUD's new zero tolerance policy, lenders are now required to list all costs accurately or risk violating RESPA.
In addition to being reliable and cost-effective, third-party vendors providing this data must understand local customs and practices in the real estate transaction and who the service providers are as well as their costs in those markets.

Making Rules Work for You!

Calyx Update
We added a new interface to your Point menu! This applies only to users of Point 7.0 (and higher), who opened Point while connected to the Internet on or after June 2nd. The interface installation is automatic.
