2707 Data Migration from Point Central to Stand Alone Point

 

Procedure to Migrate data from Point Central to Stand Alone Point

 

Note

Files must be Decompressed in order to begin this procedure.  The Hosting Company will provide instructions on how to receive and Decompress data.  Once files are decompressed, please complete the following steps in order.

 

I. Copy Files

II. Point Administrator

III. Point Folder Preparation

IV. MyCalyx Installation Settings

 

 


I. Copy Files

1. Verify Folders and Files from Hosting Party are Decompressed and accessible.

2. Using File Explorer, right click on to drive C: to create a new folder.

3. Name the folder C:\CalyxData.

4. Copy all Folders provided from Hosting Party folder to your destination folder C:\CalyxData.

5. Verify folders are in Destination folder.

II. Point Administrator

1. Open your Point Administrator.

2. Click the Settings button.

3. Unclick the Enable Point Data Server box, then click OK.

4. Click the Setup Data Folders button.

5. Click Connect Existing button.

6.Click Browse button and select the first Folder to connect to in Point.  Then Click OK.

7. Click Yes to the following message.

8. Choose a Password you can remember.

9. Enter a Name description which will appear in Point to represent the folder.  Then click Create.

10. Click OK for Default Folder settings.

Note: Folder is now Connected to Stand Alone Point.  Repeat steps 5-10 for all other Folders.

11. Verify all folders are connected.  Click Close.

12. Click Exit to close Point Administrator.

Point Folder Preparation

1. Open Point.

2. In the Navigation Panel > Data Folder dropdown, verify that all folders exist.

Note: Before moving on to Step 3, verify the folder has less than 1500 Loan files in folder.  Using File Explorer, right click the folder and select Properties.

3. Navigate to File > Rebuild List.

4. Select all options in Loan List and Task List.  Then click Start.

5. Click OK when completed.

6. Repeat steps 4 thru 5 for all folders.

MyCalyx Installation Settings

1. Log onto MyCalyx site and click the Installation Settings button.

2. Enter a Name for the Installation Group.

3. Enter the Folder location into the Data Folder Path, then click the Add button.

4. Once the Folder Path is added, repeat step 3 for all folders.

5. Verify all folders are added.  Then click Save button.

6. Click Manage Point Installations to exit Installation Settings.

7. Select all names to have access to folders.

8. Choose the correct Installation Group from the dropdown list and click the Apply Installation Settings button.
