To install IIS and required server roles:
- Open Server Manager by doing one of the following:
- From Windows, select Server Manager from the Windows taskbar.
- From the Windows Start screen, select Server Manager from the Windows taskbar.
- Select Manage > Add Roles and Features.
- Verify that your destination server and network environment are prepared for the role and feature you want to install.
- Click Next.
- Select Role-based or feature-based installation to install all components for roles or features on a single server and click Next.
- Select a server from the server pool and click Next.
- Select Application Server and Web Server (IIS), and click Next.
Note: When selecting the Web Server (IIS) role the following message might display.
Click Add Features to proceed.
- Select all .NET Framework 3.5 Features and additional features. For .NET Framework 4.5 Features select all features with the exception of Named Pipe Activation(you may have to uncheck the feature).
- If a message displays to confirm the additional features, click Add Features and click Next.
- Click Next to proceed to the Role Services page.
- Verify that .NET Framework 4.5 and Web Server (IIS) Support) are selected.
- If a message displays to confirm the additional features, click Add Features and click Next.
- Click Next to proceed to the Role Services page.
- Retain all default selections and click Next.
- Click Install.
A progress bar is shown and indicates the installation progress. You can close the Wizard or you can leave the wizard open while you wait for the installation to complete.
- When the Installation succeeded message is displayed, click Close.
