SYMPTOM
When attempting to log into Point, the following message appears:
"Point could not connect to Point Data Server...Unable to connect to remote server...No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."
CAUSE

Local computer firewall or router

Improper settings in Internet Information Services (IIS)

Incorrect information in PDS section of winpoint.ini (For example: Pointing to test or old server).
SOLUTION
Local firewall or router

To resolve problem with local firewall, Point needs to be allowed as trusted application this would be C:\winpoint\winpoint.exe or refer to click here.

To resolve problem with router, we recommend contacting your IT technician.
Incorrect information in PDS section of winpoint.ini file
