SYMPTOM

When you attempt to open a custom form document, the following error occurs:

"Autoword: The OpenDataSource2000 method or property is not available because the object refers to a protected area of the document"

CAUSE

The Word document has been protected and Point cannot merge fields into a protected area of the Word Document

RESOLUTION

Turn off full screen reading view in Word.
