6421 Install.exe generates error code 126: specified module could not be found and code 1797: printer unknown

SYMPTOM

When you run install.exe, an error appears: "Error code 126 specified module could not be found and error code 1797 printer unknown"

CAUSE

This error occurs because the windows printer installer looks for the framedyn.dll file in the system path and it does not exist. The .dll file should be located in the C:\windows\system32\wbem directory.

RESOLUTION

Copy the framedyn.dll file from the C:\windows\system32\wbem directory into C:\windows\system32

1. Go to My Computer.
2. Double-clickLocal Disk (C:\).
3. Double-click the Windows folder.
4. Double-click the system32 folder.
5. Double-click the wbem folder.
6. Right-click the framedyn.dll file and select Copy.
7. Go back to My Computer.
8. Double-click Local Disk (C:\).
9. Double-click the Windows folder.
10. Double-click the System32 folder.
11. From the menu bar, select Edit > Paste. This will copy the framedyn.dll file into the folder.
12. Go back to My Computer.
13. Double-click Local Disk (C:\).
14. Double-click the Winpoint folder.
15. Double-click the pdfinstall.exe file.
16. When the installation has completed successfully, open Point and try again.
