6425 Auto file naming algorithm has hit its limit. No more files can be created.

SYMPTOM

When you import data into Point using a Data Import template, an error appears:

"Auto file naming algorithm has hit its limit. No more files can be created.”

CAUSE

You are attempting a batch import with an Auto File Naming counter that has exceeded the set limit.

RESOLUTION

To increase the Auto File Naming limit

1. Open Point.
2. From the Menu bar, select Utilities > Auto File Naming > Prospect or Utilities > Auto File Naming > Borrower.
3. In the Prospect File Naming or Borrower File Naming window, go to the Counter field and select a higher number.
4. Click OK
