      6625 Some forms print half a page or legal forms print on letter

      SYMPTOMS

      When printing forms cutoff, prints half the page or legal forms print on letter.


      CAUSE

      The printer is not correctly switching trays for letter and legal documents or the driver is not compatible with Point. This commonly occurs after an update.


      RESOLUTION

      Recreate the form group

       

      If you are printing from a form group, delete the form group and recreate it.

      1. Open Point. From the Menu bar, select File > Print.
      2. In the Borrower Forms window, click the Form Groups tab.
      3. Highlight the group name from which you want to print, and click Delete Group.
      4. Once the group is deleted, click Create Group.
      5. Re-create the group by clicking all the forms that you want to add to the group.
         
      6. Enter a name for the group and click OK. If you are going to share the new print group with other computers, click the Share this print group checkbox.
      7. When you have re-created the print group, try printing the forms again.

      Change settings within the printer

      1. Open the Control Panel.
      2. Double-click Printers & Faxes.
      3. Right-click on your default printer (the printer with the check next to it), and select Properties.
      4. Click the Advanced tab.
      5. Select the option to print directly to the printer, and click Apply.
      6. To lower the resolution of the printer, click the General tab.
      7. Click Printing Preferences.
      8. All printers are different, but look for a section labeled Print Quality, Graphics, DPI (dots per inch), or Resolution. This is usually located in an Advanced tab.

      Install a Post Script Driver

      Go to the printer manufacturer's website and download a post script driver for your printer. Remove the old printer and driver and install the new post script driver. You may need to contact your IT administrator to remove and install the printer driver for you.

      Point forms are designed to print on a specific paper size.
      (For Example, the Loan Application prints on letter.)

      You can print any letter size form on legal size paper but it will leave a blank area at the bottom of the page. Point does not have the ability to stretch the letter size form to fit on legal size paper. However, your printer might have an option to "Scale to Fit" or "stretch" the form to fit on the paper size. This functionality is a part of the printer options and not a functionality of Point.
