When you open Point and enter your password, the login box disappears.
This issue is currently under investigation. Although the exact resolution is undetermined, you can disable other programs from starting when you restart your computer which will resolve the issue.
This article will be updated when the exact cause and resolution has been identified to fully resolve the disappearing login box.
Disable start up items and services
The following instructions will disable all startup programs and services that start when your computer starts. If you connect to the internet with a wireless connection, you might need to keep your wireless software and service enabled.
Note: Before following these instructions, please contact your network administrator. If you do not have a network administrator and are not sure about disabling all services for Windows, you should contact Calyx Software Support at 1-800-342-2599 for guidance before following the instructions below.
If you connect to the internet with a wireless connection, consult with your network administrator to recheck your wireless software and any software that is required for your computer to start, such as fingerprint software.
Before disabling all services, consult with your network administrator to recheck any service for your wireless (if necessary), and any service is required for your computer to start.
- Close all open programs.
- From the desktop, click the Windows Start icon.
- Click the Startup tab.
- Click Disable All.
- Click the Services tab.
- Insert a check into the Hide All Microsoft Services checkbox.
- Click Disable All.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes to restart the computer.
- When the computer is restarted, open Point and you should be able to log in.
You do not necessarily need to leave all services and startup items disabled, but you cannot run them all at once. We understand that there are some programs or services that might need to start when your computer starts. You can follow step 2 to go back to the Configuration Utility window for Windows and recheck two or three services and startup items at a time until you find the specific service that is causing the conflict with Point.
