      6377 Setup cannot access windows installer components. Setup cannot continue

      SYMPTOM

      When you install Point, an error appears: "Setup cannot access window installer components. Setup cannot continue."


      CAUSE

      You must register, restart, or update Windows Installer.


      RESOLUTION

      Log into the computer as the Administrator and then try the installation.

      Unregister/Register Windows Installer:

      1. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
      2. In the Open field, enter msiexec /unregister and click OK. Nothing visible occurs. All changes are made in the background of your system.
      3. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
      4. In the Open field, enter msiexec /regserver and click OK. Nothing visible occurs. All changes are made in the background of your system.
      5. Try the installation again.
