There are several ways to copy a file. Each method is listed below:
Copying a file by File > Save As
Using the File > Save As function must be completed while the file is open and will copy the entire file but does not copy any attached documents, such as viewable credit reports, downloaded service documents, or underwriting results.
- Open the Point file.
- From the menu bar, select File > Save As.
Optional: Insert a check into the Copy only 1003 data checkbox if you want to copy the file but include the Loan Application only. All other form data will not be copied.

Copying a file by using the Copy button
Using the Copy function must be completed from the loan search results screen while the file is not open. This function will copy the entire file and all downloaded documents, such as, credit reports, underwriting results, etc...
- Search for the file you want to copy from the Loan Search Results screen.
- Highlight the file but do not open it.
- Click the Copy button
- Select one of the following options:
Manual Naming: will let you manually enter a filename that you want for the new file
Auto File Naming: will automatically generate a file number for the new copied file
Optional: Insert a check into the Copy only 1003 data checkbox if you want to copy the file but include the Loan Application only. All other form data will not be copied.
