6731 Fannie Mae freezes during submission

SYMPTOMS

Point freezes while trying to submit to Fannie Mae, or the status bar hangs while trying to submit to Fannie Mae.

 

CAUSE

There are several factors involved when the status bar hangs during submission:

  • A Firewall is blocking Point from communicating across the Internet.
  • The version of Internet Explorer needs updating.
  • Internet Explorer needs re-installing.
  • MSXML 4.0 is installed

 

RESOLUTION

If you are running Windows Server 2003 with Terminal Server, you must update to Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.

Configure Norton or McAfee Personal Firewall to allow Point to communicate across the Internet. (You may need to contact your network administrator to configure the firewall.)

 

Unregister/register MSXML4.DLL

A message stating that the file has been unregistered successfully should appear.

  1. Close Point.
  2. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
  3. In the Open field, enter regsvr32 -u msxml4.dll and then click OK.
  4. From the desktop, select Start > Run.
  5. In the Open field, enter regsvr32 msxml4.dll and then click OK.
  6. Open Point and re-submit the file to Fannie Mae.

If the above solution does not resolve the issue, uninstall MSXML4 or MSXML4 SP2 from the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
