Importing templates

Templates in conventional Point are a collection of folders, each containing a different template type (i.e., the CCS folder contains Closing Cost Scenarios, the LoanProg folder contains Loan Programs, etc.). This collection of folders is generally located in a PNTTEMPL folder.

Unlike conventional Point where all users share the same set of templates, in PointCentral you can create separate template sets and assign them to different users or user groups.

1. Log in to the PointCentral administration site.
2. Select Configuration > Parameters from the left navigation pane.

Note the Root Template Set Path.

This is where all templates reside on the PointCentral server and is typically located at ...Program Files (x86)\Calyx Software\PointCentral\filesync\TemplateSets.

3. Open Windows Explorer and copy the entire PNTTEMPL folder (C:\PNTTEMPL) from the computer or the local server to the root template set path on the PointCentral server.

Note: After the PNTTEMPL folder is copied, edit the folder name accordingly.

In this example, the PNTTEMPL folder was copied to the root template set path on the server and renamed to East-Coast. A second one was copied and renamed to West-Coast.

4. Return to PointCentral administration and select Configuration > Import > Template Sets.

A list of the not yet imported conventional template sets in the root folder path is displayed.

5. Select the check boxes that correspond to the template sets you want to import into PointCentral and click Import Template Set(s).

A message is displayed that lists the folders that were imported.

6. Click the Status page link to the or select Status from the left navigation pane.

Note: After the template sets are imported, edit the template set name accordingly.

The action is displayed on the Requested Actions: Done section on the Status page when completed.

7. When the template set import is completed, you can assign user and user group access permissions. See 3309 Assigning access rights to a template set.
